Start of school 2023 / 24

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, the time had finally come. A total of 33 children started school at the International Primary School in Geithain. The gymnasium, school building, courtyard and classrooms were festively decorated for the occasion. The teachers, educators, after-school care staff and management also dressed up. Of course, the first-year pupils and their families were especially dressed up. The children proudly marched into the gymnasium with their new classmates, their new class teacher and their new educator. There, the third graders performed an enchanting program under the direction of Mrs. Schaedler (class teacher 3a) and Mrs. Harms (class teacher 3b). English and German songs were sung, a story was told and the school beginners were allowed to present their knowledge. Afterwards, all the children were photographed with their satchels and went to school together with their class teacher and their educator. There they were able to marvel at the classroom. There was also a small gift for the children. Then, finally, the moment arrived that the children had been looking forward to for weeks. They were presented with their sugar cones and, together with their families, were able to have this wonderful moment captured by our photographer. Mrs. Frommhold (class teacher 1a) and Mr. Purschke (teacher 1a) are really looking forward to spending time with their pandas. Mrs. Gruhle (class teacher 1b) and Mr. Storl (educator 1b) are also looking forward to spending time with their meerkats.

We wish everyone a successful first school year!
