Scope of application
This accessibility statement applies to the website international-primary-school-geithain.de

Introduction
We endeavor to make our website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) and the associated ordinance(BFSGV). The aim is to give everyone - especially people with disabilities - unrestricted access to our online services.

Status of compliance with the requirements
The website is partially compliant with the requirements of the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, compliance level AA.

Non-accessible content
Some content is not yet fully accessible. These include

• Some screen elements have no [alt] attributes
• Jump links cannot be focused.
• Links do not have an easily recognizable name
• The contrast ratio of background and foreground colors is not sufficient.
• Heading elements are not arranged in a consecutive descending order
• ARIA roles are used for incompatible elements

Measures implemented to remove barriers
We are implementing the following measures, among others, to improve digital accessibility:

• Clear font sizes and high color contrasts
• Structured navigation via mouse and keyboard
• Alternative texts for images
• Responsive display for different end devices
• Easy-to-understand language and error messages

In addition, we use the "Ally - Web Accessibility & Usability" plugin to provide users with disabilities with support functions such as:

• Adjustable font sizes
• Inverted color display
• Grayscale mode
• offer more visible focus indicators
  . These functions can be activated individually using a button.

Economic disproportionality
Some measures for complete accessibility are currently not economically feasible. These include complex technical adaptations that would require disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, we are striving for gradual optimization.

Exceptions
Content written by users (e.g. comments or reviews) is not subject to the legal accessibility requirements.

Testing methodology
Accessibility is regularly assessed by means of:

• Manual checks by internal specialists
• Automated tests (e.g. with Google Lighthouse)
• Evaluation of user feedback

An external audit report is not currently available.
