Reading by the author Kati Naumann

In October, the penguins from IPS Geithain attended a reading by author Kati Naumann. The author is known for her children's books and radio plays such as "Die kleine Schnecke Monika Häuschen". She has also written novels for adults. On October 24, Ms. Naumann did not present her "Monika Häuschen" to the children in class 3a. That's more for the little ones. No, she knew how to get the pupils excited about her book series "Never press the red button". She presented one book in particular from this series: "Never press the red button or the rocket will take off". In this book, Egon wants to find out how he can save his anxious friend Jojo and the whole world from an impending asteroid impact. Of course, the two friends have to build a rocket to do this. In addition to this exciting story, the book also features great illustrations by Josy Jones. The pictures of the rocket that Egon and Jojo wanted to build didn't just make us adults smile.

The children listened spellbound as Kati Naumann read out a few pages from her book. But the children didn't just get to listen to a real author on this day. They even had the chance to join the author in a little experiment to see how such a rocket can destroy an asteroid. The penguins from IPS Geithain definitely went home that day with the beginning of a captivating story and a big smile on their faces. Some were even so enthusiastic that they wanted to buy the whole series of "Never press the red button". Thanks to Kati Naumann and of course the Geithain library for this great reading!
