"Curtain up, ring free" - Aron children's circus makes a guest appearance in Geithain

This year it was that time again: the Aron children's circus from Berlin made its second stop in Geithain and carried out its children's circus project.

The participants came from the IPSG Geithain and the Paul-Guenther-Schule. Rehearsals and performances took place in the week from 10.06. to 14.06.2024.

Monday started with a performance by the professional artists, during which the various training groups for the pupils were also presented.

Afterwards, the children were divided into different groups: Hula artists, plate spinners, fakirs, pirates, clowns, tightrope walkers and acrobats.

Over the next two days, the children from the IPSG spent the mornings working diligently and with great motivation on their performance with the circus trainers. Thursday morning was the day: the dress rehearsal took place and the individual groups saw for the first time what everyone had worked on over the previous days. The mutual enthusiasm was huge.

This was followed by the costume rehearsal and a photo shoot. There were only a few hours left until the first big performance at 3 p.m., which the children spent with a class teacher lesson and in the after-school care center. The "hot phase" of the project began at 14:00.

The children put on their costumes, did their make-up and made final arrangements. At 3 p.m., the circus director opened the show, in which the hula-hoop group was the first to perform and the fakirs with their nail board and fire show formed the finale. The well-filled circus tent was packed with parents and grandparents, who applauded loudly and were extremely impressed by the children's performances.

The show went smoothly and as planned. A lot was demanded of the IPSG students that day: Dress rehearsal, first show, second show. In the meantime, the groups were able to relax in the grounds of the after-school club or enjoy the delicacies on offer from the circus, such as popcorn, tacos, cola, etc., with their parents.

The second show began at 6 p.m. sharp and the circus tent was almost completely full of guests.

Once again, the girls and boys showed courage, concentration and skill. It was a joy to watch, which was reflected in the applause from the enthusiastic crowd.
