Back to school at the IPSG

"HURRA, I AM A SCHOOL CHILD" was the motto in Geithain on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

42 pupils of classes 1a and 1b were solemnly celebrated on this day in the

International Primary School Geithain and learned for the first time their

class teacher, their classmates and, of course, their classroom. Already the day before

preparations for the start of school are in full swing and all teachers and after-school caregivers of the IPSG

helped with the design of the school building and the gymnasium. Due to the poor

weather forecast, at the last minute a rain-safe variant for the

Sugar cone distribution found. The enrollment ceremony took place in two rounds. In the

festively decorated gymnasium, the school beginners walked together with their teacher and the

after-school teacher to the SIS - Song and were together with the parents and siblings of

welcomed by the principal Mrs. Bergmann. At this emotional moment, one of the children's

or other parent also sometimes the tears. The 3rd classes performed a great participatory program

under the direction of Mrs. Möbius and Mr. Jurancic. Here, the future serious graders were able to

already show what they can already do. Afterwards, each child received his or her school bag

put on and smiled contentedly at the photographer's camera, who was photographing the school

all the time and captured unforgettable moments. After that it went to the Zuckertütenausgabe

into the annex building. Under the direction of the new class teachers Mrs. Ehret for class 1a and

Mrs. Berard for class 1b, the parents presented their children with the richly filled

Sugar cones. Of course, a beautiful souvenir photo could not be missing. Together with

the class teacher then went to school. While the parents looked after the sugar cones,

the school beginners got to know their classroom and were happy to receive some presents on

their table. Since all classes of IPSG have animal names, the children were already excited,

which animal was waiting for them in the room. Class 1a has a wolf as a class animal and in 1b

a big cuddly toy koala welcomed the class. After a joint class photo

the little "wolves" and "koalas" said goodbye to their class teacher, ran

beaming with joy back to their parents and looked forward to the first day of school on Monday.
