The rhythm is boiling

The children at IPS Geithain received a very special surprise in the first week of school. Javier, a so-called rhythm chef, was invited to our school to present his "drum kit" and his skills to the children and encourage them to join in. Many of our children were also allowed to be the "cook" themselves.

Everyone - pupils, teachers and educators - was particularly impressed by Javier's unorthodox drum kit, which consisted of pots, pans and a large water canister, for example. The cooking utensils were not played with the usual sticks, but mainly with whisks. This was not only funny, but above all surprising, as the resulting sounds proved that it is possible to build a drum kit from such everyday objects.

In addition to short games played by Javier, he encouraged the children to join in. In addition to clapping rhythms, they were encouraged to chant, stomp and dance. No child remained seated on the benches. Even the games literally encouraged them to jump and dance around. Even the adults couldn't contain themselves.

In summary, it was a great hands-on program for everyone present. In just one hour, the children were introduced to the topic of "rhythm" in a playful way. They had great fun and were also able to try out their musical skills. Thank you Javier for this great program! You are welcome to come back. 😊
